What Is Oxygen Cleaning?
Oxygen cleaning is a specialist cleaning process intended to remove contaminants that are unsuitable for equipment being placed into oxygen-rich service. The process is different from routine cosmetic cleaning — equipment needs to be appropriately inspected, disassembled where necessary, cleaned using suitable processes, protected from recontamination, and reassembled appropriately for its intended use.
Cylinder Oxygen Cleaning
Cylinder oxygen cleaning can often be combined with inspection/testing where appropriate. If your cylinder needs both periodic testing and oxygen cleaning, tell us when booking so the work can be planned together.
Regulators & Components
Not every regulator or component is suitable for every oxygen-service application. We will consider manufacturer information, equipment materials, intended use, condition and parts availability before accepting specialist oxygen-service work.

When Might Oxygen Cleaning Be Required?
Examples may include equipment intended for certain Nitrox blending applications, decompression gases, oxygen service or gas-decanting applications. Is oxygen cleaning the same as a normal service?
No. A normal service focuses on inspection, maintenance and replacing scheduled components. Oxygen cleaning specifically addresses contamination and suitability for oxygen-rich service.
Can you oxygen-clean my scuba cylinder?
Suitable cylinders can be oxygen cleaned. If testing is also due, it often makes sense to arrange both together.
Can you oxygen-clean regulators?
Suitable regulators/components may be accepted depending on their intended use, manufacturer requirements and condition. Contact us with the make/model and intended gas.
Does oxygen-clean status last forever?
No. Appropriate filling, handling and storage practices remain important after cleaning — no equipment remains permanently clean regardless of handling or contamination.
