PADI Night Diver

As the sun sets, the underwater world changes completely. Creatures that remain hidden during the day emerge to feed, colours appear differently under the beam of your torch, and familiar dive sites become entirely new experiences.
The PADI Night Diver course teaches you how to plan and conduct safe, enjoyable recreational dives after dark.
Why Dive at Night?
Night diving isn’t simply daytime diving in the dark. Marine life behaves differently, navigation requires more planning and communication becomes even more important.
By learning the correct techniques you’ll discover different marine life activity, new underwater experiences, greater confidence in reduced visibility, improved torch handling and better buddy communication.

Many divers are slightly nervous before their first night dive, but quickly discover how enjoyable and relaxing it can be with the right preparation.

Course Requirements
- Be at least 12 years old (Junior Night Diver available from age 12 under current PADI standards).
- Hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification).
- Be medically fit to dive.
- Complete the required participant paperwork.

Is night diving difficult?
Not at all. With proper planning, good equipment and appropriate training, most divers quickly become comfortable diving after dark.
Do I need my own dive torch?
Not necessarily. Please check the booking page or contact us before your course if you’re unsure.
Is marine life different at night?
Yes. Many nocturnal species become active after sunset, while other marine life behaves differently from during the day.
Will visibility be poor?
Not necessarily. Visibility depends on the dive site and conditions rather than simply the time of day.
