The brands we stock
We are a small, family-run business, and we only sell kit we have used ourselves. That means we stock fewer brands than a big online retailer -- and it means that when you ask us how something performs on a cold, dark inland dive in February, you get a real answer rather than a specification sheet. Plenty of our customers are not divers at all: the workshop does cylinders, air and servicing for air gunners just as much as for the dive trade.
We use what we sell
Every brand on this page is kit we use ourselves, in UK water, in winter. If we have not dived it, we do not stock it -- which is why this list is shorter than a catalogue and why we can tell you how something actually behaves at forty minutes into a cold dive.
A small, family-run business
You will get the same handful of people every time, and they will remember what you dive or shoot. Our aim is not to sell you the most expensive thing on the shelf -- it is to keep you diving, which usually means the kit that fits and lasts.
Fitted and explained, not shipped in a box
Masks, suits, fins and computers all reward being tried, adjusted and set up with somebody who knows them. Come in for a chat or give us a ring, tell us what diving you are doing, and we will work out what suits you. Anything we do not hold, we will order in.

Cressi
Masks, snorkels, fins and entry-level kit
One of the oldest names in diving, and still where most people's first mask and fins come from. A mask either seals on your face or it does not, and no amount of reading reviews will tell you which -- this is the kit that most rewards ten minutes in the shop trying a few.

Waterproof
Wetsuits, semi-drys and drysuits
Swedish-designed suits that we rate for fit above almost anything else. A wetsuit that is loose in the wrong places will make a UK dive miserable, so we would far rather size you up in person than have you guess from a chart.

Northern Diver
Drysuits and diving equipment
British-made kit from Lancashire, and a sensible route into dry diving without going straight to the top of the range. Being UK-made also makes repairs and spares considerably less painful than they might otherwise be.

A British supplier we have used for years for the everyday things -- the accessories, spares and odds and ends that keep a kit bag working. Rarely glamorous, consistently useful.

Miflex
Braided regulator and inflator hoses
Braided hoses that have quietly replaced rubber on most of the kit we service: lighter, far more flexible, and they do not take a set after a winter folded up in the boot. Three ranges -- standard low pressure, a technical line, and high-pressure gauge hoses -- so it is worth telling us what you are diving before picking.

Dive computers
Shearwater computers are on almost every wrist on our staff. They are clear to read, they do not hide things behind menus, and they grow with you from your first recreational dives through to technical diving without needing replacing. We keep them in stock and we will happily set one up with you.

Drysuits, lights and configuration kit -- the range our instructors dive personally, and the one we teach on.

Santi
Drysuits, heated undersuits and layering
Santi make the drysuits and heated undersuits most of our instructors dive in, which is the main reason we stock them. The heating in particular changes what a British winter dive feels like -- and it is the sort of thing that wants fitting and explaining properly rather than picking from a size chart.

Wings, harnesses, reels and accessories
Agir is the backbone of a lot of the kit configurations we teach on -- wings, harnesses and the small hardware that holds a setup together. Getting this right is mostly about fit and balance in the water, so it is worth trying rather than ordering blind.

Avatar drysuits and undersuits sit a step below the Santi range on price without giving up the things that matter on a cold dive. Often the right answer for somebody moving into dry diving for the first time.

Midland Diving Equipment
Cylinder valves, manifolds and charging equipment
MDE have been manufacturing high-pressure cylinder valves and manifolds in the UK since 1958, and they make the airgun side of it too -- gun valves, charging kits and cylinders. If you need a valve replaced, a manifold sorted out or a charging setup put together properly, this is usually where it comes from.

Cylinders and airgun accessories
Hydrotech supply the cylinders and high-pressure accessories we sell, for diving and airgun use alike. Cylinder stock moves constantly and a good deal of it is second-hand, which is exactly why it never worked as a web listing -- tell us the size and working pressure you are after and we will sort it out, and if we do not hold it we will get it in.
What we do in the workshop
Not everyone who walks through our door is a diver. A large part of what the workshop does is cylinders, air and servicing — for scuba divers and air gunners equally. Most of it is second-hand stock or hands-on work, which is precisely why it was never something you could sensibly buy from a web page.
- Air fills up to 300 bar High-pressure air for diving cylinders and PCP airgun charging cylinders alike, filled while you wait at the Swindon workshop.
- IDEST cylinder testing We are an IDEST D7 test centre and do the work in our own workshop, so your cylinder is not sent away to somebody you will never speak to.
- PCP and airgun cylinders You do not need to be a diver to use us. New and second-hand charging cylinders, valves, filling hoses and the adaptor nobody else seems to stock.
- Servicing and repairs Regulators, valves and drysuits, repaired on site by the people who will also be the ones diving next to you.

A mask that leaks or fins that cramp will put someone off diving faster than almost anything else, and neither is something you can judge from a photograph. Come in for a chat, or give us a ring, and we will work out what actually suits you.

We are a working workshop rather than a high-street shop, so the kettle is usually on and the kit is usually in bits. You are very welcome to come and talk something through in person.
