PCP Airgun Fills, Cylinder Testing & Equipment

Airgun & PCP Air Fills, Cylinder Testing and Equipment in Swindon

You don’t need to be a scuba diver to use our Service Centre. Air gunners are a big part of our customer base at Wiltshire Scuba, and our Swindon workshop provides high-pressure air fills, cylinder testing and equipment for PCP and pre-charged air rifle users across Swindon, Wiltshire and the surrounding area.

Whether you need a quick 300 bar fill, your charging cylinder is due a test, you’re looking for another cylinder, or you need a replacement filling hose, adaptor or accessory, come and see us.

High-Pressure Air Fills – Up to 300 Bar

We provide high-pressure compressed air fills for PCP and airgun charging cylinders up to 300 bar. Fills are carried out at our Service Centre in Swindon and while-you-wait fills are normally available.

We fill cylinders rather than rifles directly, so bring your charging cylinder with you. Your cylinder must be within its required test period and rated for the pressure requested. If you’re unsure whether your cylinder is suitable, bring it in and we’ll happily take a look.

Need a fill? See our Air Fills page for current pricing, or simply bring your cylinder into the shop.

Airgun Cylinder Testing

Wiltshire Scuba is an IDEST D7 Test Centre, allowing us to inspect and hydrostatically test cylinders in-house at our Swindon workshop — including the high-pressure cylinders commonly used by PCP and air rifle shooters.

Fitted with a surface valve? Your cylinder only needs hydrostatic testing every five years.

This is the point most airgun customers are surprised by. A cylinder fitted with a surface valve — that is, one used only in the open air and never taken underwater — normally requires hydrostatic testing just once every five years. It is only cylinders fitted with a diving valve, and therefore used underwater, that fall onto the shorter two-and-a-half-year test interval that scuba divers are used to.

So if your PCP charging cylinder has never been near the water, you almost certainly need it tested far less often than you might expect. Bring the cylinder in and we’ll check its markings, test status and valve configuration and tell you exactly what it requires, and when it is next due.

Our cylinder services include:

  • Hydrostatic cylinder testing
  • Visual inspection where applicable
  • Cylinder valve servicing
  • Internal inspection
  • Internal shot blasting where required
  • Replacement parts and valves where available

Because the work is carried out in our own workshop, your cylinder isn’t simply being sent away to an unknown third party. See our Cylinder Testing page for current prices and further information.

New & Second-Hand Airgun Cylinders

Looking for another charging cylinder? We can supply new cylinders suitable for airgun and PCP use and regularly have second-hand cylinders available too.

Second-hand stock changes constantly, so it isn’t always practical for us to list everything online. If you’re looking for a particular cylinder size or pressure, give us a call, message us or pop into the shop. If we don’t have the right cylinder available, we’ll see what we can source for you.

We can also help if you’re unsure what size cylinder would best suit your rifle and how often you shoot.

Filling Hoses, Adaptors, Valves & Accessories

Need the annoying little fitting that seems to be impossible to find? We can source a range of high-pressure filling equipment, spares and accessories for airgun and PCP setups, including:

  • Filling and charging hoses
  • Cylinder valves
  • Pressure gauges
  • Adaptors and connectors
  • Foster and quick-connect fittings
  • Bleed valves
  • Seals and O-rings
  • Replacement parts
  • Other high-pressure filling accessories

We won’t pretend to have every fitting for every rifle sitting on the shelf, but we have access to a wide range of high-pressure gas equipment and can often source what you need.

If you’re trying to match an existing setup, bring the cylinder, hose or fitting with you where practical. It’s considerably easier than trying to identify a mystery thread from a photograph!

Airgun Clubs — Club Pricing Available

If you run or are a member of an airgun club, talk to us. We can offer club pricing for cylinder testing and other servicing where multiple cylinders are involved, and we’re happy to discuss arrangements for clubs that regularly need fills, testing or equipment.

Rather than treating every cylinder as a completely separate job, speak to us about what your club needs and we’ll see what we can arrange.

Why Air Gunners Use Wiltshire Scuba

Although scuba diving is in our name, high-pressure cylinders and breathing gases are everyday work for our Service Centre. From our Swindon workshop we offer:

  • New cylinders
  • Regularly changing second-hand cylinder stock

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you fill airgun cylinders to 300 bar?

Yes. We can fill suitable airgun and PCP charging cylinders up to 300 bar, provided the cylinder is rated for that pressure and is currently in test.

Can you fill my air rifle directly?

No. For safety, we fill charging cylinders rather than rifles directly.

Can you test my airgun cylinder?

Yes. We are an IDEST D7 Test Centre and carry out cylinder testing in-house at our Swindon workshop.

How often does an airgun cylinder need testing?

If your cylinder is fitted with a surface valve — used in the open air and never underwater — it normally requires hydrostatic testing only once every five years. The shorter two-and-a-half-year interval applies to cylinders fitted with a diving valve for underwater use. Bring the cylinder in if you’re unsure and we’ll check its markings and valve configuration and tell you when it is due.

Do you sell airgun cylinders?

Yes. We can supply new cylinders and regularly have second-hand cylinders available. Second-hand stock changes frequently, so contact us for current availability.

Do you sell filling hoses and adaptors?

Yes. We can supply or source filling hoses, valves, gauges, adaptors, connectors and other high-pressure filling accessories. Bring your existing equipment with you if you’re unsure which connection you require.

Do you offer discounts for airgun clubs?

Yes. We can offer club pricing for cylinder testing and other services. Contact us with an idea of the number of cylinders or services your club requires and we’ll discuss the options.
