IDEST Oxygen Cleaning Course
Oxygen cleaning of diving and breathing gas cylinders
A course for technicians at an existing inspection or test centre who need to add oxygen cleaning to the centre’s scope.
It covers what oxygen cleaning actually is, when a cylinder needs it, and how to do it and record it properly.
Training is delivered by Wiltshire Scuba, an IDEST training centre (TC021) and IDEST test centre D7, in our own working workshop.

Practical Workshop Training
The course runs partly as a presentation and partly in the workshop, and the workshop element is the point of it. You will do the work yourself rather than watch it being done.
Class sizes are small, so you get individual coaching rather than a demonstration from the back of a room.
Entry Requirements
This course is for staff of an existing IDEST inspection or test centre who already have cylinder inspection and testing experience.
It is not an entry-level course. If you are not yet inspecting cylinders, start with the Technician Inspection Course Part 1 and speak to us about the pathway.

Common Questions
Can I take this without an inspection qualification?
No. It assumes you already inspect and test cylinders at an IDEST centre. Ring us and we will point you at the right starting course.
Does this cover nitrox filling?
It covers preparing cylinders so they are safe to fill with mixed gas. Filling itself is separate.
How long does it take?
Six to eight hours, run as a single day.
